Dear Enemy
“Dear Enemy” is a novel by American author Jean Webster, first published in 1915. It is a sequel to her well-known book "Daddy-Long-Legs". Told through a series of letters, the story follows Sallie McBride the witty and practical friend of Judy (from the previous novel), who is appointed to run an orphan asylum. Though hesitant at first, Sallie gradually embraces the challenge, working to reform the institution and improve the lives of the children. The novel blends humor, warmth, and social commentary, and offers a progressive view of women’s roles in early 20th-century society.
